The pace of AI innovation and publications is blinding. Per a 2023 Kaggle Report, over a hundred AI papers are published every day! There's no way to keep up with everything that's going on if you want to have a life outside of staring at your computer. Today I'll give a brief description of the resources I've used to keep up to speed on the most important developments of the day. The resources can be split into three categories: Podcasts, Blogs, and X.
Podcasts
If you're interested in AI and are running short on listening material, I highly recommend the following podcasts:
The AI Breakdown
The AI Breakdown is a daily podcast hosted by Nathaniel Whittemore. He gives a short 5 minute overview of the biggest developments in AI that happened that day, and then has a longer ~15 minute section where he digs a little deeper into topics. It's been useful to make sure I hear about the latest interviews with Sam Altman or the latest research releases from the big tech companies.
Lex Fridman Podcast
This one isn't specifically focused on AI all of the time, but Lex gets face time to interview some of the brightest minds of today. My favorites are interviews with Elon, Sam Altman, Mark Zuckerberg, Stephen Wolfram, Noam Brown, Robert Playter and Demis Hassabis.
3M HIS Inside Angle
This podcast is hosted by various thought leaders at 3M and often addresses the intersection of AI and healthcare. Some of my favorite episodes are the recent interview between Juggy Jagannathan and Robert Plotkin about AI innovation and its impact on the patent system, as well as an interview between Juggy and Thomas Schaaf where they discuss some of the exciting advancements of AI over the years.
The AI Podcast
The AI Podcast is a podcast hosted by NVIDIA. They interview researchers and engineers who are using NVIDIA's hardware to push the boundaries of AI. It's obviously more focused on the hardware side of things, but it's still a great listen. I really enjoyed this episode with Jim Fan
A16Z Podcast
The A16Z Podcast is a podcast hosted by Andreessen Horowitz. They interview a wide variety of people, but they have a lot of great episodes on AI. This episode with Fei-Fei Li is a must listen.
Blogs
I don't like to have tons of emails in my inbox, so rather than subscribe to newsletters, I generally use https://feedly.com/ to aggregate all of the blogs I follow. Most of these are the blogs of the big tech companies for them to advertise their research.
